Shashank Mohan elected as ICC Chairman
1.The BCCI in its 85th Annual General Meeting held here has re-appointed Shashank Mohan as ICC Chairman in place of N.Srinivasan who has been removed.
2.Shashank Vyankatesh Manohar was born on September 29, 1957 and a lawyer currently serving as the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. He was elected as president of the BCCI unopposed in the special general meeting called by the Board in October 2015 following demise of Jagmohan Dalmiya.
RBI allows Internet Banking Facility for co-op banks rbi
1.As some of the State Cooperative Banks and DCCBs have requested for permission to offer Internet Banking facility, RBI has decided to allow StCBs and DCCBs to extend the facility of internet banking to their Customers. So far these were not allowed to provide internet banking facilities to their customer.
2.Earlier, in 2014 RBI permitted all UCBs complying with certain condition to extend internet banking with ‘view only’ facility, without approval of RBI.
3.Accordingly, the guidelines issued to the UCBs were reviewed and uniform guidelines for all the cooperative banks are now issued in supersession of previous guidelines issued to UCBs in the matter. The revised guidelines applicable to all the cooperative banks are as follows.
Coal Imports Drop 5% to 14.52 Million Tonnes in October
1.Government on Monday said coal imports have declined by 5 per cent to 14.52 million tonnes (MT) in October over the year-ago period.
2.”DGCI&S data reveals that import of coal has come down for the fourth consecutive month. In October 2015, it is down by 5.10 per cent over October 2014,” Coal Secretary Anil Swarup said in a tweet.
3.Coal imports had dropped by 27.16 per cent to 12.6 MT in September on rise in domestic production.
4.”Coal imports down from 17.3 MT in September 2014 to 12.6 MT in September 2015,” Swarup had said in an earlier tweet.
5.India had imported 212.103 million tonnes of coal worth over Rs 1 lakh crore last fiscal, according to provisional coal statistics of 2014-15 released by the Coal Ministry earlier.
