Deepak Singhal Appointed Executive Director of RBI
1.Deepak Singhal has taken over as the new Executive Director at the Reserve Bank of India today, November 2, 2015,” RBI said in a communication.
2.Prior to this, Mr Singhal was the Regional Director in-charge of RBI in New Delhi.e has also headed Department of Banking Operations
and Development, Human Resource Development Department and Premises Department at central office of RBI and office at Belapur, Navi Mumbai.
Paul Ryan elected as 54th Speaker of US House of Representatives
1.Republican Paul Ryan was elected as the 54th speaker of the US House of Representatives after fetching the votes of 236 members by the
full House of Representatives.
2.Following his election, Ryan was sworn in as Speaker of the House. He took the oath on his own copy of the New American bible and kept
the gavel he wielded as Chairman of the powerful tax writing committee.
National Unity Day observed across India

Ministry of Civil Aviation released Revised Draft National Civil Aviation Policy
1.The Ministry of Civil Aviation on 30 October 2015 released Revised Draft National Civil Aviation Policy (NCAP 2015).
2.The policy aims at providing a favourable environment and a level playing field to various aviation sub-sectors, such as Airlines, Airports, Cargo, Maintenance Repairs and Overhaul (MRO) services and so on.
3.Besides, the scheme also intends to create an eco-system to enable 30 crore domestic ticketing by 2022 and 50 crore by 2027.
Railways launches ‘Vikalp’ for waitlisted passengers to get confirmed berth
1.Railway is launching a new scheme under which waitlisted passengers can get confirmed accommodation in next alternative train if they
opt for the option while booking their tickets online.
2.Known as Viklap, the alternative train accommodation scheme will take off in trains running on Delhi-Lucknow and Delhi-Jammu sectors from November 1, on a pilot basis.
3.Initially, Vikalp scheme will be available only for the tickets booked through internet for six months and option will be limited to mail and express trains on the two selected routes, said a senior Railway Ministry official.
GSAT-15 to be launched on November 10 from French Guiana
1.ISRO’s latest communication satellite GSAT-15 is all set to be launched on November 10, 2015 from French Guiana on board Ariane 5.
2.The Indian space agency, as part of augmenting telecommunication services, had earlier launched communication satellites GSAT-14 and GSAT-6, respectively.
3.The satellite would provide C and Ku band telecommunications and navigation services to India.
HPCL, GAIL Eye Petrochemical Plant in Andhra Pradesh
1.State-owned refiner Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL) and gas utility GAIL India Ltd are looking at jointly setting up a multi-
billion dollar petrochemical plant in Andhra Pradesh.
2.They are exploring the possibility of a petrochem project after their plans to team up with France’s Total, Lakshmi N Mittal Group and Oil India Ltd (OIL) for a 15 million tons a year refinery-cum-petrochemical plant at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh fell through.
Jaitley to Open World Economic Forum India Summit on November 4
1.Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will open the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) India summit on November 4, an event that will see participation of more than 250 stakeholders and leaders, including Union Ministers.
2.The theme of the meet is ‘Delivering Growth in the New Context’.
3.WEF, along with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), will host the National Strategy Day on India here on November 3-4.
4.While Mr Jaitley will deliver the opening address on November 4, Minister of State for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy Piyush Goyal will give away the India Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2015 Award on November 3.
